It is often said that a week is a long time in politics. If I could add a comparison it would be that a month is a lifetime in a Pandemic so it seems. A month ago we were locked down and the ‘Sombrero’ chart which Boris Johnson talked about at the start of all this was looking more like a Witches hat! A month later, we’re looking like restrictions of all kinds are being eased as the nation gets back to work. Whether we agree or disagree it is happening, if Alderley Edge high street is anything to judge by; I just hope that no second wave follows.
Last week I saw with interest a couple of things that made me smile. Firstly, the fact that my ‘screen time’ report that Apple sends me had gone up over 40%. I wasn’t even aware I had requested such a report which made me wonder what secrets my Google Home is keeping as well as Apple!
Secondly, my daughter posted the image below which really made me think…
I guess all of us have to get back to our own version of normal at some time. This is despite and in spite of whether we think it is right to be rushing back to whatever it was that wasn’t working very well in the first place. For me, the world got itself in a really big hurry and lost sight of what the destination was.
Covid-19 has taken its toll on all of us that is for sure. Our very own Leah Roberts, our paraplanner extraordinaire had her wedding cancelled. So, such has been the ubiquity of Zoom in all our lives we did a Zoom wedding. I’m not sure whether Martin with a dog collar made of a folded piece of paper stuffed into his shirt while officiating the ceremony merits any binding contract though!
We have now dropped the Covid-19 email footer as by this time I am sure you all know where we are and how to get hold of us. We are not rushing back to work in a mad panic as we still believe and embrace – perhaps the wrong choice of wording – social distancing. We are, however, business as usual so please do get in touch if you have any query whatsoever – we’d love to hear from you.
During the lockdown, we have started doing a series of ‘2-minute reads’. These cover an array of subjects which we feel you, our clients might want to either know more about or didn’t know that TWP offer as service. I hope they’re informative and not too much of an intrusion into your inbox.
Please feel free to share them with anyone you feel might benefit from knowing a little bit more about TWP and what we do.
TWP Wealth is on Twitter and LinkedIn and these articles are always shared there too so if you feel like joining us on either, or both please do.
Who knows where we will be at the end of July, but wherever that is let’s hope it’s a safe place.
