At TWP we are incredibly proud to support some amazing charities, such as the Chazuka Project and Child’s I Foundation who are behind incredible initiatives in locations such as Malawi and Uganda.
A little closer to home, and with a few avid rugby supporters at TWP, we have also loved growing our involvement with LooseHeadz, a rugby inspired clothing brand that raises funds to help #TackleTheStigma surrounding mental health in sport. Given it is currently Mental Health Awareness Week, it seems as a good a time as any to reflect on the incredible work done by the team at LooseHeadz, and their partners Team Mental Health.
Formed in 2017, LooseHeadz has gone on to establish itself at the forefront in the battle against poor mental health in rugby, thanks in large part to the support of their ambassadors. Current and former players such as Ugo Monye, Brad Shields, Sam James and Amber Reed have all thrown their support behind the work done by LooseHeadz, whilst the legendary Shaun Edwards has taken on the role as patron of the LooseHeadz Foundation.
Alongside Team Mental Health, LooseHeadz are keen advocates of the 5 ways to mental wellbeing. These steps focus on; connecting, being active, taking notice, learning and giving. You can read more about the steps, and how they might apply to you here. The LooseHeadz Foundation also looks to support the Wellbeing Through Sport programme, an initiative to help nurture the positive mental health and wellbeing of primary school-aged children through physical activities.
We look forward to continuing to support LooseHeadz, and will bring you further updates on their progress throughout the year.
